She and Darrius then joined hands and headed for his truck. Before they got in, Justine looked at him rather anxiously. “Are you not sure about your relationship with me? We have only known one another for almost a week.”
“Justine, don’t let the totems and time frames fool you. I love you and nothing will ever change that. What I mean by taking things slow is just that—getting to know one another more completely. I hope you understand that.”
“I do. I just wanted to be sure of your feelings.”
“They’re intact.”
Once inside the truck, she asked, “Aren’t you going to get your clothes from Derrick?”
“Why would I? I certainly won’t need them tonight.” He wriggled his brows at her and smiled. “Know what I mean?”
“I do. Start the truck. Now! Baby has a mighty big appetite tonight.”

PLEASURE PRINCIPLE
“Did I fail to tell you that you were fantastic tonight?” Justine asked.
With his eyes still fixed on the road, he answered lightheartedly. “You can always tell me again.”
“I will. You were—”
“Better yet, show me.”
“Right now?”
“Yeah. I saw how you looked at my breechcloth even though, at the time, you thought I was Derrick.”
“You’re right. I’m sure family traits go beyond hair color and perfect teeth, but you’re the only Red Sky I truly want to experience—again.”
“Then give me something that can satisfy me until we get home.”
“While you drive? What if you crash the truck?”
“Then we’ll die in seventh heaven, right?”
“What about my totem that says to take things slowly?”
“Baby, that doesn’t apply to everything; we’ve already done the deed. Besides, I’m only asking for a kiss.”
Trying her best to avoid taking him on in the dead of night on a lonely stretch of highway, she looked through her window. In the distance were mountains that looked like crouching giants; their dark, deeply rooted forestry looked as though they had eyes, eyes that could see her kissing her lover, getting her fill of him—delighting in his pleasures. Yes, she had been taken by his breechcloth, knew the power beyond it and wanted more of it, then as well as now.
Her eyes returned to his profile, observing the keenness of his features, the beauty of his blue-black hair as it blew in the wind. She wanted him more and more. “Just a kiss, right?”
He looked as though he were about to say something grand, but only said, “I promise nothing more—at least until we’re in the shower.”
“There is no such thing as having just a kiss when it comes to you, but I’m going to trust your word this time. Pull over; can’t have you killing us over one kiss.”
“One of my kisses will kill you—but it’s a lovely death, my sweet Justine.”
“I like the sound of that.”
Darrius pulled over and indulged her in a kiss that was so dangerous that he knew he would lose control of the situation if he wasn’t careful. However, he wanted to do more, could feel his breechcloth tenting the deeper he kissed her. They were alone, it was dark and no one was around for miles, yet this wasn’t the place. Justine was a special person and she deserved having more than a quickie in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico.
But then he realized that in her arms, there was no such place as “nowhere.” He was everywhere with one single touch of her precious hands. Her breasts felt like heaven in his hands; the feel of her still damp hair against his neck and shoulders almost made him weak from want. He slowly drew back and stared into her eyes. “I can’t believe how amazing you are. Are you a dream?”
“A dream is the last thing I am, Darrius.”
“Whatever you are, I need you in my life, and nothing less will ever do.”
“Then let’s not stop. Let’s enjoy the moment a little longer, explore. We’re completely alone and there is no one around to tell on us,” she said. “We can have each other now—and later.”
“But it will be so much better in my bed.”
“You mean I finally get to see the bed that envelops this precious body?”
“I told you we were going home.”
“I know, but I somehow assumed we were going back to my hotel room. You’ve been so secretive about this bedroom of yours.”
“Best of all, we will have the entire night to do exactly what we want to do. No interruptions, no ringing phones or doorbells.” He cradled her face in his hands. “I have gifts for you tonight, my love. Not just any gifts but physical ones, sexual ones—ones you will never forget. It all starts with a bubble bath, candlelight, me and you.”
“And after that?”
“Hot, wet sex! The wettest and hottest that you’ve probably ever experienced.”
“Then start the truck and let’s get a move on.”
