“A jack-hammer or something that could break concrete.” She swallowed. Carter wanted to give her condo to Mia, but he didn’t know about the large dragon concrete sculpture in her kitchen. And she wanted to keep it that way.

“Concrete? Sure, I guess I might have something. Actually, it’s in the truck.”

“What’s in the truck?” Corbin, the blue-eyed shifter all the females in the pack were talking about, walked in swinging the keys. He’d taken over the installation crews for Jack.

“The pneumatic hammer.” Jack shoved a whole cookie in his mouth.

Corbin reached for a cookie, but Jack dodged him.

Emma cocked her head, and Jack, with the energy of a toddler sharing his favorite toy, offered Corbin a cookie.

“Thanks, Emma. These are great,” Corbin said with a mouthful of cookie and hung the keys on the wall. He sat down on the clean workbench. “Truck’s all gassed.”

“Good.” Jack pulled the cover over the cookies.

“Can I have another?” Corbin reached for the plate, but Jack danced around him.

“Those are Jack’s, but I’m making more for the pack run tomorrow. I know Spencer would love to have you come out.”

“I’m not interested in joining the Hundsburg pack. At this point, my wolf thinks he’s a bear. But thanks.” He shrugged, standing up.

“You wouldn’t have to join to run. I know there are lots of people who would love to meet you. You could make more friends in town?” The girls of the pack would love it if she could convince him to come.

“I’m good, but thanks for the cookie. I’m out on a delivery tomorrow anyway.” Corbin nodded. “You want me to get the tools out of the truck?” He thumbed at the parking lot.

“Just the pneumatic hammer. Can you put it in Emma’s car for me? Thanks.” Jack hid the cookies in his office and reappeared, after Corbin had left. “Emma, I get what you’re trying to do for him. But his life hasn’t been an easy one and he’s not going to change. Seriously, I’m shocked he came out here to work for me. It’s kind of you, though. I’ll give him a few more cookies.”

“I’m not giving up that easy.” Emma smiled. Something about Corbin felt familiar, like one of her visions that was just out of reach. Which usually meant someone close to her. And since Corbin wasn’t someone close to her, she had a hunch that he would be important to someone in the pack. Her pack. The only pack of witch-wolf shifters in the world.

The door flung open. “Thanks Jack.” Flint laughed. “I helped your guy load the tools. I’ll have them back tomorrow.” Flint gravitated to his mate and kissed her neck.

“Monday’s fine.” Jack stood in the door frame of his office.

“Perfect. You ready, Emma?” Flint wiggled his eyebrows at her.

Emma nodded. “Sure.”

He shoveled the last bit of dirt over their buried evidence. “That about does it. I don’t think anyone will be able to tell. And if they can, they’re going to have one interesting archeological dig.”

“I’ll magic some grass over it tomorrow.” She’d had enough power left over from work, and with two power orbs from Flint’s stash, they were able to move the broken pieces into the hole they’d partially dug with magic and partially with shifter muscles. Then she’d levitated the pieces into the hole and they’d covered it up. But now they were both drained. “Mia knows. But she won’t tell anyone else. And Carter’s too busy with the ShifterChat buyout.” There would be no more attacks now that Carter controlled the competition.

Emma smiled. “The buried statue is our little secret.”

“More like a huge secret.” Flint kissed her cheek. He’d sent a large check to the restaurant to replace the stolen statue. So it wasn’t a complete secret. The restaurant owner wasn’t too mad. The publicity of the missing dragon had made business boom for the last month, and with Flint’s large check, he planned to buy real stone ones.

She cocked her head and laughed. Emma had another secret, too. A vision she’d seen today. But then visions about yourself . . . this one wasn’t anytime soon. Flint’s hair had been longer, and hers was shorter, and the hand of the little boy she held was small, soft, and holding a frog. Which had made her jump in the vision, and then she’d lost sight of it before she wanted to. But the feeling had stayed. Things were going to be better than okay.

She kissed Flint’s dusty cheek. “You ready to go home?”

“I’m always home when I’m with you.”

Reagan escaped Ross during the full moon pack run. But will he stay gone? Book two, Protect

I have a free novella on the way. Shelter, how Flint’s older sister met her mate.

Discovering you're a shifter witch hybrid when you have to get your classroom ready for a bunch of teenagers is hard enough.

But finding out your fated mate is the new hot science teacher in the room next door . . . not good. Especially when Vivianne keeps blowing things up. Cars, toasters; nothing is safe from her recently unleashed, misdirected powers.

So how is she going to keep her new mate safe from haywire magic? And keep her classroom from discovering this new secret? And, worse, fight her wolf's urge to mate?

It’s going to be a long year of hormonal high school students. Fighting this growing mating bond every time she walks into the teacher’s lounge with these potent pheromones swirling about is going to be nearly impossible.
