Acknowledgements

First off, I would like to apologise to all of those who had early drafts of this book forced upon them back in 2012. Even though it needed a lot more work at the time, you gave me the encouragement to improve as a writer. I would like to thank all the writers from Scribophile’s Ubergroup, and the Candied Sea Urchins who helped me on that journey. Across those two groups, there are too many names to mention. It’s through all your help and support that I was able to complete this project. Another big thanks to alpha and beta, readers who read the improved versions of this novel.

I’d like to thank my editor Lauren Humphries-Brooks for getting this book to its final form. Also, a big thank you to Cornelia Yoder for the wonderful map of Alabach, really helping to bring this world to life. The incredible art comes from the MiblArt team, a group I can’t recommend highly enough.

Finally, I’d like to thank you, the reader, for picking up this book. Whether you’ve gotten here by skipping to the end or reading the story that precedes this, I am grateful for your time.
