The Story So Far…

Resident stage manager of a community theatre company, Edme Ward, accidentally summons the hell prince for lust, Asmodeus—or as he likes to be called, Shade. Initially infuriated that Edme (Eddie) has summoned him, Shade quickly finds himself needing her help. Hell is being turned upside down by a demon rebellion, which is weakening the already damaged seals to the seven sins. If the seals break, creation as they know it will all end. Initially, Shade blames Wrath for creating the problem, but it emerges that Lucifer is the real problem and needs to be hunted down before he brings about the end of days.

Eddie, who it turns out is actually Nephilim, is only able to partially repair the seals, and a heaven element is needed to completely repair them. Eddie and Shade have fallen for each other, but Eddie is holding back because she’s not sure she can trust the lust hell prince with her heart and is also not sure if she can trust her own feelings. Before they can explore their budding relationship, Eddie is kidnapped by members of the rebel horde. Sure that Lucifer is behind Eddie’s disappearance, Shade and Wrath return to the earth plane determined to find her.

Wrath and Shade strike an uneasy alliance. While Wrath goes to hell to find Lucifer, Shade scours the earth plane for Eddie.

But Wrath finds himself with an unwelcome sidekick, a seraph called Haziel, who is econd to archangel Ramiel. Haziel has been in love with her archangel since her creation. But the chance to go on an exciting mission with the intriguing and sexy Wrath has her happily agreeing to join the hell prince on his quest and keep an eye on him at the same time. Never the most even-tempered being, Wrath is walking a knife’s edge of worry for his daughter, fury at his brother, and the effects of his fragmenting seal.

Meanwhile, back on earth, Eddie’s absentee mother, and Wrath’s long-lost love, Rosabella, puts in an appearance.

Eddie’s grandmother, Dee, also has to deal with the arrival of the new hell gate guardian, Daniel Lee. Having been fired by head guardian Chris Fellows, Dee is not happy about sharing her home and duties with this charming young guardian.

In an effort to shake off Haziel, Wrath leaves her with his former flame Mammon, aka Ava, (Avarice), and tries to track down Lucifer. His search reveals that Lucifer has disappeared, but a tip tells him Lucifer has returned to earth. Wrath goes back to earth to discover that Lucifer is not behind the demon rebellion or Eddie’s disappearance, but is himself involved in a hunt for his second, Ashe, who appears to be leading the demon rebellion.

Wrath goes to fetch Haziel, only to find Ava and Haziel have formed an unlikely friendship. His partnership with Haziel is further complicated by a growing attraction, ably assisted by the weakening lust seal. They put their attraction on the back burner for the good of the mission, and until they can know for sure if it’s them or the seal making them hot and heavy for each other.

The first of the horsemen of the Apocalypse, Pestilence, is perilously close to waking. Our team also discover that Ashe is not the power behind the rebellion but acting for a powerful being called Indolex, who used to be a demon but has grown in power to something other and far more dangerous.

Shade finds and rescues Eddie, and she carries the news that she might not be the only Nephilim. But Eddie is badly injured from the demons draining her power constantly. Wrath needs the assistance of his counterpart archangel, Ramiel, to heal Eddie.

Desperate to help Wrath, Haziel makes a deal with Ramiel. If he helps Eddie, she will agree to leave Wrath and go on a mission for Ramiel. Always aware that Haziel loved him, Ramiel is jealous of Wrath and Haziel and determined to separate them.

Haziel’s mission is to discover how bad the situation with Pestilence is. Wrath joins her in secret, and it’s a good thing he does. Pestilence senses Haziel and locks onto her power to help them rise. Haziel is nearly killed in the incident, and Wrath must call in hell princes and archangels to save her. They manage to save Haziel, but she honors her promise to Ramiel and returns to his realm with him.

Wrath is devastated. Not only did Eddie’s mother, Rosabella leave him, but the next female he fell in love with has also left him.

Realizing he acted from petty jealousy, Ramiel declares himself to Haziel. Haziel has discovered that it’s Wrath she really loves and rejects Haziel. Wrath comes for Haziel and a full gathering agrees that Haziel can stay with Wrath. Vexia, Wrath’s second, steps up and agrees to take her place beside Ramiel.
