“That’s what people like to call us. I’ve been hanging around with you for a while, and you’ve been a tough one.” He gave a wink and moved his hands around to indicate their surroundings. “Did my job and got you to here.”

“Had I been dreaming?”

“Maybe of another world.”

“Dreams can be so real. So vivid.”

“Yes, they can. Sometimes these unseen worlds appear like the seen world.”

“How long had I been dreaming? It was like a long and frightening story.”

“Time is hard to judge in dreams. They can appear a lot longer than they are—days can be minutes, even seconds. God can move shadows back ten steps. He can make the sun stand still. He can turn back time. He can manage your dreams. He can show you the future.”

“The events seemed so real, but it was only a dream, a nightmare.”

“Your mind was dealing with your fears. You may have also been given a vision. But dreams bring release and freedom as well.”

Wiley understood. “Things make sense now. I remembered I couldn’t read things and was puzzled. Someone once told me that’s how you tell if you’re in a dream or not. Look at your watch, or try and read something.”

“Yes. The language processing part of the brain does sleep. There isn’t much need for interpreting written language in your dreams, but some people can read in their dreams.”

“Will there be dreams in heaven?”

His angel smiled. “Maybe, but your mind will be dealing with different things. Better things. Heavenly dreams, not nightmares.”

Flashes of blues—light and dark—lined the walls of the tunnel. Streams of water. Wiley touched the side of the tunnel. His hand vanished but reappeared as he pulled back.

“You will see streams of water again. The New Jerusalem will be beyond your wildest expectation. He has made all things new. Back to the way it was originally planned. The stain has been removed. The pollution has gone. Paradise.”

Wiley sensed odd things happening to his body. Twitches here and there. He wondered what was going on inside him. He’d had an interest in science at school, before he lost his way. He would love to recall the knowledge on how cells worked, would love to understand DNA and genes again.

“Just some cellular action going on in your body. All good. It’s a process and won’t take too long. A few days. Knowledge and understanding will return.”

Reading thoughts again.

“You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and I’m sure you’re now sensing what a powerful and mighty God we serve. You have entered eternity. Something many have spoken about but none fully comprehend. You are there now. Immortal.”

Immortal. Who knew?

“Can I remind you of some words spoken: ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him’.”

Those words penetrated Wiley’s heart. He knew something had changed. Immortality? Even his thought patterns were different. His thinking was clear. No hidden meanings. No negative thoughts. No fear. All things were good. He had complete trust in what was taking place and a sense of destiny, a sense of belonging.

Immortality. Those twitches were bringing immortality.

“An orderly adjustment,” his angel said. “Rejuvenation and realigning your body to a heavenly spiritual body—still in human form, but at the age of around thirty in old earth terms. All bodies will be capped at around that age. The elderly will come back to that age, while the young will progress to that age.”

Wow. He wouldn’t age.

“We’re traveling a vast distant at an immense speed. Your body will be adjusting. We’ll soon be there.”

“Could I ask where ‘there’ is?”

“Adventus is collecting believers from around the world at a speed you wouldn’t be able to comprehend. We’re orbiting the Earth like the moon does, but much faster. Once all the believers have been caught up—a term used in God’s word—we will be in the presence of the Lord forever.”

“So we’re going to be living on a moon?”

The angel laughed. “Many have asked this question. Adventus is a sphere that contains the New Jerusalem. It is heaven coming down to Earth. It is surrounded by a covering to protect the city and also to allow travel through vast distances in space. We’ll soon reach our destination. It’s where the Lord said He would return to—the Mount of Olives.”

The Mount of Olives. Where Jesus ascended from and where He will return. It all made sense. Adventus will position itself over Jerusalem, over the mount.

“Your dream may have had an element of prophecy to it. You saw the future.”

“Yes. Vividly.”

A thought tried to enter his mind. He sensed it was a negative one. But it was like the thought hit a brick wall and fell to the ground. Wiley knew his Bible well, especially for someone who wanted to stop others from finding the truth. He knew now the research he’d put into the Bible had the opposite effect—it had planted seeds in his heart.

“Reading the Word was good for you. That’s what kept me in your vicinity. But there was a man who sent some lovely prayers up to God. They also helped. You will remember him as the man carrying the placards.”

“Wow. Yes, I remember him.” He felt overwhelmed but in a good way.

“You had your plans, but God also had His. You may even get a chance to thank that man. He was ridiculed by many but saved many.”

“I would like to meet and thank him.” Wiley went quiet for a moment. So thankful.

“How big is this city?”

“Massive. It needs to be, as it is accommodating millions of believers. But there is plenty of room. That’s the way God planned it—He has prepared a place for you.”
