Lokivigir explained, "When the Gods wish to visit other realms, they place their hand on Yggdrasil and think of the realm they wish to visit. But be careful, because the Bifrost is guarded on the other side by the ever-vigilant god Heimdall."

Nikolaus nodded, his resolve firm. "We'll deal with that when the time comes."

With determination, Nikolaus approached the mighty trunk of Yggdrasil. He placed his remaining hand on the ancient bark and closed his eyes, focusing all his thoughts on Asgard. Moments passed, and he felt a strange sensation, as if the tree itself was moving around him.

As the sensation intensified, Nikolaus felt a surge of energy coursing through him, and the pain in his body momentarily dulled. The connection to Yggdrasil was unlike anything he had experienced before. It was as if he could feel the heartbeat of the cosmos, the interconnectedness of all realms.

Suddenly, the sensation ceased, and Nikolaus felt solid ground beneath his feet once more. He opened his eyes to find himself standing on the Bifrost, the radiant rainbow bridge stretching out before him. The sight was breathtaking, a testament to the grandeur of Asgard.

Nikolaus took a moment to steady himself, his body still aching from the battle with Níðhöggr. He glanced around, taking in the shimmering colors of the Bifrost and the distant outline of Asgard’s majestic structures.

"We made it," he said quietly, a mix of relief and anticipation in his voice. "We're in Asgard."

Lokivigir responded with a note of caution, "Remember, Heimdall guards the Bifrost. He will not be easily swayed, and he will question our presence here."

Nikolaus nodded. "I understand. But we must warn the gods about Níðhöggr and stop the corruption from spreading further."

As they began to move along the Bifrost, Nikolaus couldn't help but marvel at the beauty surrounding him. Despite the urgency of their mission, the sight of Asgard filled him with a sense of awe and determination. The golden towers of the realm glistened in the distance, a beacon of hope and strength.

"We need to find Heimdall," Nikolaus said, his eyes scanning the horizon. "He must be alerted to the threat."

With each step, the weight of his task pressed heavily on him. The pain from his injuries was a constant reminder of the battles he had fought, but his resolve never wavered. The thought of Hel and the promise he had made to her fueled his determination.

As they continued along the bridge, Nikolaus prepared himself for the encounter with Heimdall. He knew that the guardian of the Bifrost would be a formidable presence, but he also knew that he had to succeed. The fate of the realms depended on it.

Chapter 11: The Gods' Final Stand

As Nikolaus walked along the Bifrost, the sounds of swords clashing and shouts of battle reached his ears. Lokivigir's voice echoed in his mind, "It might be the daily battle that Odin organizes before a feast, or maybe Níðhöggr has already arrived."

Nikolaus's heart raced, and without hesitation, he began to run, Lokivigir in hand. As he neared the end of the bridge, he saw a massive dragon, much bigger and more imposing than the shadow of Níðhöggr he had fought before. The sight filled him with both dread and determination.

Reaching the battlefield, Nikolaus saw a chaotic scene of corrupted creatures fighting the Gods and Goddesses, each one a master of combat. Those who had been taken by the Valkyries also fought valiantly alongside them. The battlefield was a maelstrom of power and ferocity.

Several corrupted creatures noticed Nikolaus approaching and diverted their attacks toward him. Despite the pain coursing through his body, Nikolaus prepared himself for the onslaught. With swift and precise movements, he cut them down one after the other, his focus unwavering as he made his way towards the source of the corruption—Níðhöggr.

In the heart of the battle, Níðhöggr was engaged in fierce combat with some of the most powerful Gods. Nikolaus saw Thor, Freyja, and Loki fighting valiantly against the dragon, their attacks coordinated and powerful. Shaking off the awe of this moment, Nikolaus knew he had to join the fight.

"Lokivigir, let's end this," he muttered, charging forward.

Thor, wielding Mjolnir, slammed the hammer into Níðhöggr's side, sending shockwaves through the battlefield. Freyja, with her grace and deadly precision, struck at the dragon's weak points, while Loki used his cunning and illusions to distract and confound the beast.

As Nikolaus joined the fray, he aimed for Níðhöggr's underbelly, remembering the dragon's weak points from their previous encounter. His blade found purchase in the dragon's scales, and Níðhöggr roared in fury, turning its attention toward him.

"Nikolaus!" Thor shouted, recognizing the mortal warrior. "Fight with us! Together, we can defeat this beast!"

Nikolaus nodded, his resolve strengthening. He dodged a swipe from Níðhöggr's claws and countered with a powerful strike, Lokivigir slicing through the corrupted scales. The dragon's roar shook the ground, but Nikolaus pressed on, his movements fluid and precise.

Loki created illusions of himself, confusing Níðhöggr and giving Thor and Freyja openings to strike. The Gods fought with unmatched skill, each blow landing with devastating effect. Nikolaus matched their ferocity, his attacks driven by a combination of pain and determination.

Níðhöggr retaliated with its icy breath, freezing the ground around it. Nikolaus narrowly avoided the deadly frost, feeling the chill as it brushed past him. He lunged forward, aiming for the dragon's injured wing, driving his sword deep into the wound.

The battle raged on, each moment a test of endurance and strength. Níðhöggr's movements became more erratic, the combined efforts of the Gods and Nikolaus taking their toll. But the dragon's power was immense, and its fury seemed endless.

"We must drive it back!" Freyja called out, her voice filled with both urgency and determination.

Nikolaus fought with every ounce of strength he had left, his vision blurring from the effort. The Gods' presence gave him hope, their unity and power a force to be reckoned with. Together, they could defeat Níðhöggr and end the corruption threatening the realms.

With each strike, Nikolaus grew more confident. The battle for Asgard was far from over, but he knew that with the Gods by his side, they stood a chance. The fate of the realms hung in the balance, and Nikolaus was determined to see it through to the end.

As the battle raged on, the Gods and Nikolaus thought they were close to defeating Níðhöggr. Surrounding the dragon, they pressed their attack. But with the swiftness of a small animal, Níðhöggr lashed out with his tail and claws, pushing everyone back and sending them flying into nearby buildings.

Battered and bruised, Nikolaus struggled to his feet, wincing in pain from his severed arm. He shouted, "We need to aim for his weak spot on his chest!"

The Gods and Nikolaus charged at Níðhöggr once more, but the dragon unleashed another icy breath, freezing Thor, Freyja, and Loki's feet in place. Nikolaus continued his charge, aiming for the dragon's chest, but Níðhöggr blocked with his claws and pushed him back forcefully.

Níðhöggr swung his tail again, this time hitting the three frozen Gods and sending them flying further away, crashing into both friends and foes alike. The battlefield was chaotic, with the clash of weapons and the roar of the dragon filling the air.

Turning his malevolent gaze on Nikolaus, Níðhöggr sneered, "Just because you defeated my shadows doesn't mean you will win."

With that, Níðhöggr slashed at Nikolaus, who barely managed to dodge the attack. But the dragon was relentless, swiping at Nikolaus with his tail and sending him crashing into another building. Before Nikolaus had a chance to get up, Níðhöggr unleashed his icy breath, freezing the building and trapping Nikolaus inside.

Despite the dire situation, the battle continued to rage on. Thor, Freyja, and Loki struggled to free themselves from the ice, their movements hindered but their resolve unbroken. The other Gods and Valkyries fought valiantly against the corrupted creatures, trying to keep them at bay while Nikolaus was incapacitated.

Inside the frozen building, Nikolaus fought to remain conscious. The cold seeped into his bones, and the pain from his injuries was overwhelming. But he couldn't give up now. He thought of Hel and the promise he had made to her. He had to find a way to break free and continue the fight.

As he struggled, Lokivigir's voice echoed in his mind. "Nikolaus, you must focus. Use the heat of your determination to melt the ice. Remember why you fight."

Gathering his strength, Nikolaus focused on the love he had for Hel and the resolve to protect the realms. Slowly, the ice around him began to crack and melt. With a final burst of energy, he broke free from the frozen prison, emerging with Lokivigir in hand.
