About the Author

Award-winning author Kat Simons’ debut action-adventure thriller, Galileo’s Pendulum, brings a mix of science history and fast-paced adventure to a little light forgery as her heroes race around the world to save an ancient relic. Her upcoming action-adventure mystery stories combine similar elements of adventure, world travel, and science—some of Kat’s favorite topics.

She’s also writing a soft-boiled, amateur sleuth series set in New York City. More known for being a popular hard-boiled mystery location, Kat wanted to show that even big cities can have small neighborhoods with a close-knit feel. From that idea, she started her Percy James series about the adventures and exploits of a front desk clerk working in a boutique hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Percy James sees a lot in that small hotel. And not all of it is legal. The series debuted with Movies May Murder.

After traveling the world, living in places like Hawaii, Germany, and Ireland, where she got her Ph.D. in animal behavior, Kat now lives in New York City with her family and a library’s worth of books.
