“It was more of what she asked, Rey.” He mused, “She asked her things about how Reyna was confident enough to add Parker and Trey to our relationship after we’d been together for so long, just the two of us.”
I nodded, knowing exactly what Hannah had been searching for with that line of questions. “Because she wants to add to ours.”
“Does she?” He asked, leaning forward on his knees to stare at me. “Because Reyna thought she was only curious about her feelings for women, not adding another to the relationship full time.”
“She wants us all to add a woman to the dynamic, not just for her.”
His eyes rounded a bit, and he sat back in his chair, “And she thought that woman would be Lex?”
“Fuck if I know.” I scoffed again, frustrated with the whole thing. “Hannah knows Lex isn’t straight. It doesn’t add up.”
“What about you?” He asked, “Everything else aside, are you and Knox down to add another? Lex or someone else completely.”
“I have no clue, man.” I replied honestly, “I can’t imagine having someone else in our life full-time.”
“I get it.” He nodded, “It was a big change when Parker and Trey moved in, I think in a way it was harder for Rey than it was for me since I lived with all of them at one point or another in life. But for Rey, they were both brand new.”
“It seems unobtainable.” I took a pull off the water, remembering the way Lex looked, grabbing the front of Hannah’s shirt and pulling her in like she was about to kiss her. She had been about to kiss her, and I interrupted her. On purpose. “Too good to be true, in a way.”
“Does Hannah want to just explore or date?”
“She wants someone we can all—” I tried to find the right words, “Play with, I guess. God, that sounds so fucked up.”
“It doesn’t, actually,” Dallin assured me. “Polyamory is a part of the lifestyle.” He explained, “The lifestyle uses the word ‘play’ to encompass so many things. It doesn’t have to be demeaning or belittling to the person you’re playing with.”
“Why’d you involve Lex in the first place?” I leveled him with a stare and hoped he’d give me something straight. Something solid to find a footing in through all of this upheaval.
“To be honest with you, it was more for Lex than it was for Hannah.” He tilted his head to the side. “More for you.”
“Me?” I scowled, shaking my head, “How does adding a lesbian help me out?”
“I’m diving way deeper into your relationship than I ever imagined I would here,” He chuckled lightly, “But that’s my doing at this point. Nevertheless, I think someone like Lex is exactly what you could use to level out your relationship dynamic.”
“She’s a Domme, D.” I barked, “Don’t you understand what that means? She’d never fold for me. A Dom will always need someone to submit to them, male or female, it doesn’t matter. And I’ll never kneel for someone else. I can’t.”
“Funny.” He twisted the bottle of water in his hands as he regarded me. “I thought that was exactly what Knox and Hannah were good at doing.”
“I can’t.” I shook my head and stood up, eager to end the conversation because I didn’t like how it was making me feel. Like I wasn’t enough for Knox and Hannah as I was without adding someone else in. “I don’t want to share them that way.”
“Fine.” He stood up, holding his hands up in surrender. “I didn’t mean to overstep your boundaries.”
“It’s fine.” I paced as the anxious energy built inside of me. “I just can’t.”
“I’m sorry, Brody.” He said evenly, and I believed him. I don’t think he set out to step on my toes. “But I didn’t come here empty-handed either.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, on edge.
He pulled a black envelope from his back pocket and held it out for me. I took it and flipped open the flap.
“An invitation.” He explained as I read the vague script on the matte black card. “To the Sinners Soiree house party this weekend.” I looked up at him when I recognized the name of the elusive sex club I’d only ever heard about in whispers. I knew Dallin and his spouses had gone to a few of their events, but never imagined taking Hannah and Knox to a place like that. Granted, that was before Hannah’s revelation. “It can be intense and over the top, especially this one since it’s the biggest one of the year. But I think it would be a great safe space for you all to dive deeper into this world. Even if you just spectate for the evening, it may answer some questions you all have about yourselves and your partners.”
“Why do I feel like if I take them to this place, we’ll be crossing a line in the sand that we can’t go back over at the end of the night?” I asked, feeling both dread and excitement at the prospect of going to the event. Lifestyle parties had always intrigued me, but I never had a purpose for them because I wasn’t interested in sharing either of my partners with anyone else. At least, that was how I had felt before. Now, I didn’t know what I felt.
“Because you can’t.” He replied evenly, like he was giving some significant words of wisdom to me, and in a way, I guess he knew enough with first-hand experience to do just that. “But that’s not always a bad thing. Maybe you all go and watch from afar all night long and take what you learned back to your house to discuss and open communication up further with afterward.”
“Or.” I mused, knowing there was another option far more likely given the temptation inside of those kinds of places.
“Or maybe you give yourselves the freedom to explore the fantasies you didn’t even know you had until the buffet of desire is laid out in front of you.” He smirked knowingly, “My only piece of advice is to set clear and firm boundaries before you walk in, about what you’re individually comfortable with as well as what you’d like to explore as a throuple. If you do that, then you can only learn from it positively.”
“Yeah,” I looked back down at the invitation as my head swam with all the possibilities the night could bring. “I’ll think about it.”
“Good.” He nodded and backed up toward the open garage bay. “Reach out if you have questions.” He winked, “Maybe we’ll see you there.”
“I hope not.” I joked, “The last thing I need to see is Trey’s naked ass running around.”
Dallin tipped his head back and laughed boisterously, “I’ll see you around.”
“Thanks.” I held the invite up and watched him get onto his bike in the parking lot and then ride off.
If I thought I was distracted beforehand, Dallin’s surprise visit completely surpassed it.
Never mind the raging hard-on I was sporting from imagining all the new things Hannah and Knox could learn in a place like that. The object of my fantasy pulled into the parking lot a minute later, jumping out of the tow truck and coming inside. “Was that D leaving?”
“Yeah,” I nodded, staring at him in thought.
“What?” He squinted speculatively. “I don’t think I like that look.”
“Shut the door.” I motioned to the overhead door and turned toward the staircase.
