ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
To my husband—My love. My life. My reason. There are no words to express the appreciation I have for you. The way you’ve supported me. Challenged me. Loved me. Last year tested us. My health failed and you did not. You held me up while supporting our family and helped me put the pieces of myself back together again. Each year I think I’ve come to understand the true power of love and vulnerability and then you show me that there’s more, more, more… Your fingerprints are all over this book. Like me, it’s better because of it.
To my children—I love you deeply. Thank you for showing me how much you love me in return.
To Dr. Sandra Small—I deeply appreciate your impact on my life. Thank you for showing up for me week after week.
To—Linda, Nickiann, Kieran, Candy, and Suzanne. You ladies are brilliant. And you somehow manage to deal with me and all my complexities. So, you know, you deserve an award or something.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Abby Brooks writes contemporary romance about real people in relatable situations. With equal parts humor and heat, her books provide an emotional smorgasbord readers love. You’ll laugh, cry, and cheer her characters on as they chase down their happily ever after.
Raised in a small town in the mid-west, Abby always leaned creative. She discovered her love of stories early, writing her first book at the tender age of four. As her passion developed, Abby explored poetry as well as storytelling, leading to many school and local awards.
After high school, Abby pursued her other passion, ballet. First working with Dayton Ballet and later Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, she appeared in numerous works, including Balanchine’s Jewels and Serenade, and other full-length ballets such as Romeo and Juliet and Coppelia. After an injury cut short Abby’s performing career, she transitioned to teaching, where she founded a successful ballet school and pre-professional ballet company and earned accolades for her cutting-edge choreography. Some of her former students now grace stages with renowned companies like American Ballet Theatre and Cirque du Soleil.
Abby’s transition to writing full-time began with the publication of her debut novel, Blown Away in 2016, which was instantly loved for its hopeful narrative and endearing characters.
With a portfolio of 25 novels to her credit, including the top 25 Amazon bestseller Beyond Words, and top 15 Amazon bestseller Fire, her novel Beyond Love continues to stand out as one of her personal favorites. Delving into the generational trauma caused by family conflict, the story ultimately explores the unstoppable healing power of love, and the pain often hiding behind a smile.
Abby believes romance is the genre of hope. We all need to believe there’s someone who will see the best and worst of who we are and love us anyway, and there’s a happily-ever-after waiting at the end of it all.
Currently, Abby lives in Ohio with her amazing husband and their three cats. In her spare time you’ll find her messing around outside, dancing in the kitchen when she should be paying attention to cooking, and enjoying the company of her family.
