I pretended to be horrified. “I did not. Besides, that didn’t work. It took a little more persuasion after that. She was battling herself. She wanted to come up here, but she is the complete opposite of Randy. She doesn’t cave to what she wants, she maintains self-control.” Mostly.

“Right…” Keith didn’t believe me, understandably. “I guess all those clothes in the elevator were from both of you having self-control.

My face felt hot, making me wonder if I was blushing. “She has this effect on me. When I’m touching her, the rest of the world seems to disappear.” I shrugged, trying to ignore the anxiety starting to creep in, the worry about why I felt such a need for her.

“Ya huh.” He knew me well enough to know not to push. “Just how long are you planning on staying up here?”

“I convinced her to give me the night. Why?”

He tilted his head to the side. “I need to know how long to stay downstairs. I don’t want to walk in on anything. It’s bad enough that I know what you will be doing as soon as I turn my back.”

I flipped him off. “Maybe I was planning on going back to sleep. She took a lot out of me.”

His eyes flicked down, drawing mine. “You are locked and loaded. Those boxers aren’t exactly hiding it. We both know where your mind has gone.”

Denial was pointless, thanks to my body giving it away. “True. Keep an eye on the club for me.” I walked away from him, already pushing my boxers down.

“Yep.” He headed straight for the door, his back to me. Not that we hadn’t seen either of each other’s loaded guns enough times. We had shared this very same studio apartment after I got the loan to buy the building. We both saved money by living here.

I moved the blanket off Fiona, lifted her leg, and dove right in. Considering the door didn’t close until after she screamed in the best way possible, and I had emptied completely again, I figured he had stayed to watch. That wouldn’t be a first either. Kind of hard not to watch when one of you brought a girl home and you shared a room. More than once one of us got off to it. It was like watching live porn.

What was a first though, was my not realizing he was still there. I was pretty sure Fiona didn’t either.

I didn’t move away from her, only helped her roll to her back. Then I leaned down and kissed her softly.

“You woke me up.”

I laughed as I dropped my forehead onto the pillow next to her head. “I did warn you it would be all night. And I’m just getting started.”

Chapter 5

Fiona

I woke up to the sun shining brightly through the curtains. I lifted the blanket to pull it over my head, and discovered another body wrapped around me. I took a peek, because I could, and enjoyed the sight of the perfect specimen lying next to me. It was tempting to wake him the way he woke me all night. But this was also my chance to get out of there without a scene, or whatever. I didn’t want to sit and listen to the “thanks, your debt is settled” speech.

My ego couldn’t take that. Not after the best night of my life. A girl could definitely get used to the way he had taken care of me and devoured me.

Quietly, I slid out from under the octopus arms, detaching them from my various body parts. I walked around the room quietly, trying to find all of my clothes. I had to follow the trail back to the elevator to get them all. Which was when I realized it needed a fingerprint to even be called.

I was sure Dillan had an emergency stairwell around here somewhere, but my legs were even more tired now than they had been the night before.

With a smile, I remembered how sure he sounded about his security system last night. He didn’t need to say it, his tone was enough. He thought his place was air tight.

I found my purse near the elevator door. I vaguely remembered dropping it in the elevator, after practically ripping it off me. I wondered if we kicked it out at some point. It was all kind of a blur.

I picked up my purse to search for my phone, praying the battery wasn’t dead. My fingers froze though when they bumped into the very thick envelope full of cash. Talk about cold water being thrown over your head. The man not only bribed me to spend the night with him, but I had a sleepy memory of him talking with someone last night, saying something about changing the time of the interest increasing on purpose. I wasn’t that deep of a sleeper. Which meant that Dillan not only bribed me, but he conned me.

He needed to learn a lesson. I wasn’t getting back at a lil punk this time. I was teaching a grown man a life lesson about respecting the wishes of others.
