“He is still learning how to read people. And if she threw BoBo for a loop, I’m sure she did a number on Kent.”

“True. You want me to go, give you two a minute?”

“No, not yet. Let’s see how this plays out.”

I watched as the woman grew closer. I couldn’t see much of her in the dark, not until she was directly in front of my table. I kept it roped off just to remind the drunk idiots that this booth was off-limits. It was in a prime spot to see everywhere in the room.

I watched with pride as she took me in. She was gorgeous and had been wreaking havoc with my staff in the short time she’d been there. And yet, one look at me, and her reign ended.

Until her eyes fell onto Bunny, and then the change in her demeanor was obvious.

I was a little torn. Part of me wished I had told Bunny to leave, so I could have seen how long my effect on her would last. But I also really wanted to hear what she had to say. To see first-hand how she messed with my men.

“Can I help you?” Bunny asked, her voice irritating me for the first time.

The woman rolled her eyes and scoffed. “I doubt you could help anyone, honey. Unless it was to take their pants off and take all their money.”

I lifted my free hand and put a fist over my mouth, trying to cover my laugh with a cough. Bunny was not amused by either of us.

I patted Bunny’s shoulder gently. “Get back to work. I’ll talk to you later.”

With a disgruntled grunt, Bunny slid out of my booth. I saw the way she moved and knew she was going to try and hip-check the woman. The woman wasn’t stupid though, she stepped to her right, just in time. It caused Bunny to go off balance just a bit. I bit back the laugh again.

This woman was delightful. And just what I needed to spice up a boring night.

Once Bunny was gone, the woman looked back at me. Her hazel eyes hypnotized me, as did the small opening made by her top with two buttons being undone. It provided just enough of a tease that it held my interest. I wished she wasn’t wearing the white undershirt, as these lights would have shone straight through, giving me what I was sure was the real best view in the house.

When my eyes met hers again, she gave me the “I dare you” look. What this unknown woman didn’t realize was that I lived for a challenge. And this was definitely a challenge I would accept.

“I heard you were looking for me.” I said it just soft enough that she had to move closer.

“Are you Dillan?” She hollered back.

I slid an inch further into the booth and patted the seat. “Why don’t you sit down? That way we don’t have to yell like barbarians.”

She fought the smirk, but slid in, holding her purse close to her chest. Sadly, that meant it hid her tempting body from me. I would have to see what I could do about that.

“Are you Dillan?” She repeated, her voice much softer, and less edgy. A thin layer of exhaustion coated her words now.

Unable to help myself, I put my arm over the back of the booth, right behind her. She turned just a smidge, facing me, moving away from my arm at the same time.
