“Yep.” Jorge pointed to another corner. “And that looks like Bruno’s. What you got going on little mouse?”
We watched as Fiona worked to break passwords on the Italian side, it was more difficult than mine. But then again, all of my stuff was in English.
“What game is Ivan playing?” I whispered.
A small picture popped up on the screen, bombs going off.
“War.” BoBo said from behind me. “Ivan is trying to start a war.”
Yeah, that made sense.
Another picture quickly followed. Oliver Twist begging for food. Rapidly followed by the Russian flag.
“And Ivan thinks I will come to him for help.” I tskd. “Do you think he knows who she is to me?”
“No. He would have forced your hand instead of taking other tactics.” BoBo grunted.
The last picture was the most confusing. It was of a bunny rabbit wearing a black mask and carrying a magnifying glass.
“What the hell does that mean?” I nearly shouted.
“Looks like a bunny being sneaky.” Jorge giggled. “Bunny spy.”
My eyes met BoBo’s. “Call Keith, tell him to grab Bunny and hold her.” I pulled out my own phone and stepped away from the desk. “Keep working on that trace, Jorge.”
“Haven’t stopped. What are you going to do?”
“I’m doing what she said. I’m calling for help. Just not the people who are expecting me.” I put the phone to my ear and waited out the numerous rings.
“I don’t remember you ever actually using this number. What’s going on?” Bruno answered, his accent not nearly as thick as Ivan’s.
“I’m calling in a favor.”
“I don’t owe you any favors.”
I grinned. “Not that you admitted as much, but we both know I saved you from a pretty little cop.”
He sighed. “I was hoping you forgot about that. Not my proudest moment.”
