But I would chase her.

Every. Single. Time.

Packing a bag I laid down in the bed setting an alarm on my phone. I’d sleep on the plane ride down too so I would be ready for her.

When I woke up I’d be with her.

Eight hours later I was landing in Puerto Rico, the address to her fathers house given to the driver as he moved through the mansions.

Her father had told me the code for the home and the safe he kept here. He told me there was a gun too in case I needed it for protection. I appreciated his concern for safety and planned on checking to make sure the girls had left it there as soon as I arrived.

Part of me was excited to see Ilaria but more than anything I was furious.

Not only is it the bubble bath picture, which was not okay to post, but it was the lack of her ring on her finger.

That had been a real slap in the face for me.

She had taken off her promise to me and that didn’t sit right.

The house was quiet.

For it being almost 1pm I had expected the girls to be more active but as I crept inside I found them all sleeping. Probably from the partying they had been doing

The only bed that had been slept in and was missing someone was of course Ilaria’s.

She couldn’t just make things easy.

Moving from the bedroom to the library I kept my eyes out for her. I wanted to check on the gun first to make sure she was safe and hadn’t taken a weapon to get into more trouble than she was already.

And inside the safe I found the wedding ring I had given her.

At least it was somewhere safe.

I slipped outside onto the deck of the vacation house dressed in the black swim shorts I had changed into on the plane. I had gotten worried Ilaria would be drunk in the ocean, planning a full rescue where she would forgive me about everything once I saved her.

A man could hope.

It was an expansive beach front property. A large area to one side where there was a grill and area to eat with some chairs and a fire pit set up. In front of me was the beach view and to the left was an infinity pool. It was the type of place that I imagined was hard to leave once you arrived.

Stepping forward I breathed in the salt air, eyes scanning as I paused noticing the beach wasn’t empty like I had believed.

Ilaria.

Laying face down on a chair, no umbrella and her bikini mostly untied was my fiancée.

My heart rate skyrocketed, mouth going dry as I stood there, watching her and wondering if she was awake or if she was taking an afternoon nap in the warm sun.

I needed to get closer to take a look.

Ilaria didn’t move as I got closer, didn’t hear me over the crashing of the waves on sand. She didn’t move as I stood over her and I noticed she had headphones in. She was completely in her own world.

I sat on her thighs, laying my body over hers as I felt her tensing underneath me, like she sensed the trouble that she was in. My fingers tugged out her earbuds as I pressed my lips to the hollow of her ear.

“Miss me princess?”

She made the best sound, this gasp of surprise, so shocked that I was there. My cock jumped to life at the sound and I knew I had to reel myself in.

Her bare ass pushed up as if she was trying to push off me but I was sliding my cock against the crack, losing the last shred of sanity and the relief of finding her washed over me.

“Fuck off.”

Her words were harsh and I found myself stilling as I pushed up, watching her roll over, her bikini not coming with her as Ilaria glared up at me with a look of such vigilant disgust I blinked in response, unsure of what I was seeing.

She had been jealous of Gabriella. That had been clear but worse than her jealousy had been the hurt of her reaction. She had felt betrayed by me.

I grabbed her left hand, sliding the ring back on as she glared at it like she had made a terrible decision. As if I was the worst thing that had ever happened to her.

“Gabriella is my mothers god daughter. She pinned me in a corner-“

“So you hold her hip and give her fuck me eyes? Get fucking real, Dante.” The sneer of her words were softened by the tears in the corner of her eyes.

At least she cared enough to get hurt.

“Do you have to interrupt me every time I talk?” The habit was getting out of hand and I needed to put a stop to it, “Just listen, Ilaria. Please, listen to me.”

She closed her mouth, breathing out heavy as she gave a short nod that she was listening. But in her eyes the rage was there.

“I held her by the hip to keep our distance because Gabriella would have tried to grind up on me. She knew you were watching and wanted to make you jealous. And you know how important it is to not make a scene in public. I couldn’t glare at her and tell her to get lost.” I watched the way she listened to me and then suddenly stopped her glaring.
