Season 5 (1969) 13 episodes
1914-1918 The War Years: Edgar goes to war, Lucy drives an ambulance. Sir Victor marries Sophia, who looks remarkably similar to his 2 previous wives. Gains 2 stepsons: Rudolf and Ichabod Radcliffe, and a stepdaughter, Rosamund Radcliffe
Now shot on film and making regular use of locations, this is famously the season that introduced “the real” Cramberleigh, AKA Fenthorp, a manor house near the town of Kettlewick, which had previously featured in the opening and closing credits of the show, though many of the set designs were based on early visits to the house.
Final season to be produced by the iconic Valerie Forsyte, a groundbreaking and glass-ceiling-smashing female producer who had helmed Cramberleigh since its early days.
