Cramberleigh: Production Guide
Cast and Characters
Gladioli — a maid (Seasons 1-11), a receptionist and occasional secret agent (Seasons 12-14), a maid again (Tales of Cramberleigh), and a cook/housekeeper (Return to Cramberleigh). Regularly haunted. Has an uncanny affinity with roses and other plants which is later retconned to be paranormal. Annually wins a prize for her raspberry blancmange at the Cramberleigh Fair, except for the year when the prize was taken out by a time-travelling Boudicca who had a surprising talent for handling gelatine. Played by Joanna Wetland, co-creator & writer of Cramberleigh.
Sir Victor Wildegreen — lord of the manor (Seasons 1-11) and occasional mad scientist (Seasons 8-11). A widower who marries young socialite Ann because she looks so much like his first wife, Lady Lavinia. Ditto his third wife Sophia. Father of Edgar, Lucy and Abigail. Stepfather of Rosamund, Rudolf and Ichabod. Killed in the Cramberleigh Explosion (1975) Played by Christopher Seasalter, renowned theatre actor with a surprisingly short IMDB page.
Lady Ann Wildegreen — lady of the manor (Seasons 1-4) and Gothic heroine. Died on the Titanic. Played by the iconic Fleur Shropshire.
Lady Sophia Wildegreen — lady of the house in Seasons 5-6. Died of Spanish flu. Mother of Rosamund, Rudolf and Ichabod. Stepmother of Lucy and Abigail. Played by Barbara Hill.
Edgar Wildegreen — Sir Victor and the late Lady Lavinia’s eldest son. Famously dull. Was ‘sent off to war’ in Season 5 and never mentioned again. Played by Robson O’Sullivan.
