Chapter 5
Fiona
I woke up to the sun shining brightly through the curtains. I lifted the blanket to pull it over my head, and discovered another body wrapped around me. I took a peek, because I could, and enjoyed the sight of the perfect specimen lying next to me. It was tempting to wake him the way he woke me all night. But this was also my chance to get out of there without a scene, or whatever. I didn’t want to sit and listen to the “thanks, your debt is settled” speech.
My ego couldn’t take that. Not after the best night of my life. A girl could definitely get used to the way he had taken care of me and devoured me.
Quietly, I slid out from under the octopus arms, detaching them from my various body parts. I walked around the room quietly, trying to find all of my clothes. I had to follow the trail back to the elevator to get them all. Which was when I realized it needed a fingerprint to even be called.
I was sure Dillan had an emergency stairwell around here somewhere, but my legs were even more tired now than they had been the night before.
With a smile, I remembered how sure he sounded about his security system last night. He didn’t need to say it, his tone was enough. He thought his place was air tight.
I found my purse near the elevator door. I vaguely remembered dropping it in the elevator, after practically ripping it off me. I wondered if we kicked it out at some point. It was all kind of a blur.
I picked up my purse to search for my phone, praying the battery wasn’t dead. My fingers froze though when they bumped into the very thick envelope full of cash. Talk about cold water being thrown over your head. The man not only bribed me to spend the night with him, but I had a sleepy memory of him talking with someone last night, saying something about changing the time of the interest increasing on purpose. I wasn’t that deep of a sleeper. Which meant that Dillan not only bribed me, but he conned me.
He needed to learn a lesson. I wasn’t getting back at a lil punk this time. I was teaching a grown man a life lesson about respecting the wishes of others.
Giggling to myself, I found my phone, and sighed in relief when I saw that it still had a little under half the battery left. I was glad I had charged it up during that last hour of work. Using my phone, I logged into his security system. I added my fingerprint to his database, so I could use the elevator. And, as payback, I deleted everyone else’s. He would be trapped up here, with only the stairs to use, and no one would be able to use the elevator to get to him.
And to add insult to injury… I collected all of his clothes and threw them on the floor of the elevator. And I did mean ALL of his clothes. I found a few sets in the small dresser and quietly took them as well. I left the money on a two-seater table in the makeshift dining area, with a short note.
Consider the debt paid in full.
Enjoy the gift I left you.
With a triumphant grin on my face, I stepped into the elevator and pushed for it to go to the main floor. I had no desire to see any other part of his set up. While I rode down, I played around in his system a little more. It was decent, but not good enough. Not against me at any rate.
The elevator opened to the small lobby we had entered after exiting the main club area. There were two doors. One I recognized as the direction we had come from the night before, while the other was on the opposite side of the room. Taking a shot in the dark, I went for the new one.
Fresh warm air hit my face. A separate entrance and exit. That didn’t surprise me in the least bit. I’d want a private entrance if I owned a club.
I walked around the building barefoot, preferring to carry my heels. I stopped dead when I came face to face with a large man sitting on the low wall dividing the alley from the entrance to the club.
“Morning,” I mumbled, trying to walk around him without looking at him. It only became a walk of shame if people knew what you were doing. Or rather, had been doing.
“Afternoon, actually. You all had a late night.” BoBo said, jumping off the wall and walking over to me.
I kept walking, hoping he’d get the hint. “Apparently so.”
