[Mephistopheles heard knocking.

Faust. [stamping]

Mephistopheles.

Faust.

A beast!

Mephistopheles.

’Tis time now to remove thee.

Martha. [coming up]

Yes, sir, ’tis getting late.

Faust.

May I not take you home?

Margaret.

My mother would—farewell!

Faust.
