“You both are going to meet Addy.” I give them my biggest, brightest smile, and they just stare at me like I’m insane. To be fair I’m probably acting it.
“Okay. Why are you acting like it’s a life changing event?”
“Because she’s my best friend, and she’s an eccentric, insane ball of energy,” I tell them. “And she’s kind of obsessed with our love life.” I wince when Bry groans, but Colten finds it hilarious.
Of course he would.
“Call and see if she’s up for it, and we can walk down,” Bry tells me. He knows how much Addy means to me and how much I miss her. Knowing she’s home for the break means everything.
Picking up my phone I dial her and put it on speaker.
“Bitch! What the hell is this about you not coming home?!” she yells at me over the phone, and I laugh.
“Just catching up on some work for school. Was wondering if you were free today?”
“Does a cat meow?” Colt lifts his brow at our exchange, but I ignore him as she goes on. “You know I’m free. My bestie ditched me so she could get all loved up by her two guys that I haven’t even met.”
“Well, they’re coming with me today.” I wince when she screams down the line.
“Get your sexy ass down here. Meet me at the park in twenty?” she asks, and I smile.
“You got it. Love you, boo!” We make kissing sounds to each other and hang up.
“Alright, boys. Let’s go!” I get up and do a giddy dance and they just chuckle, following behind me.
The good thing about living in a small town like Blossom is the fact that it’s not generally a busy place, and today is no exception. Addy stands out like a sore thumb against the kids and parents in the park.
Her long, vibrant blue hair is blowing in the wind as she looks around for us. And the second she lays eyes on me, she bolts herself toward me. Both of my guys pull away as she runs into me so hard I almost fall over.
“Easy, turbo, I missed you too.” I laugh as I squeeze her tight. Damn I love this girl.
“I fucking love you, bitch,” she says as she pulls back to look at me. “Damn, Harls, you look gorgeous!” She winks at me, and Colten chuckles beside me.
If Brian was a true friend, he would have warned him against what happens next, but nope.
“Aww, Harls. That’s cu—” Colt gets cut off because I punch him in the gut.
“No one but Addy calls me Harls. Ever.” I glare at him, and he lifts his hands in mock surrender before rubbing his abs.
My hand kind of slightly hurts. It was like punching a brick wall.
Addy just laughs and grabs my hand, pulling me close to her as she assesses the guys before she gives Bry a huge smile.
“You. It’s nice to meet the guy who finally made my girl remember she has a vagina.”
I snort and roll my eyes at her as Bry’s eyes widen before the corner of his mouth pulls upwards.
“Nice to meet you too, Addy. Can I call you Addy? When I called Harleigh, Harls once, she threatened to kick my ass. Like I told her, I like my ass the way it is.” He winks at me as Addy laughs.
“Addy is fine by me.” She turns her attention to Colten and glares. He’s slightly taken back. “You, however, can call me Adeline until I know you aren’t going to break my girl.”
Poor Colten looks so lost as he looks between her and I, his mouth opening and closing a few times before he settles on me.
“You know I’m not going to hurt you. Right, babe?” he asks in his sexy tone, and I all but melt.
“Lay off him, Adds. He’s still a raging dickhead, but he’s my raging dickhead.” I give her arm a squeeze, and she snorts.
“Ugh, fine. But hear me, dude. You hurt her and I will seriously harm you.” She points a finger at him, and he nods in understanding.
Not that she could ever hurt a demon really, but she doesn’t know that.
I kind of feel like the shittiest friend in the world for keeping this secret from her, but I still haven’t figured out a way to tell her all this shit exists.
How do you tell your best friend you’ve known all your life, that you’re a supernatural sex demon? It’s going to take a while to figure out how to break it to her.
As we start walking around town, Addy holds me prisoner with linked arms while the guys trail behind, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“So what’s it like?” she whispers to me as we walk.
“What?” I ask, even though I know what she’s going to ask.
She rolls her eyes at me. “You’re dating two guys, Harls! How does that even happen?! I can’t even get a date in this stupid town,” she huffs, and I laugh.
“You’re such a liar, Adds, you are just extremely picky.” I wink at her, and she laughs.
“True that.” She nods, and we both laugh as we make our way to sit outside the town café.
