Once we’re seated around the table with Addy on one side and Bry on the other, Colten looks at us for a minute before he picks me up, and sits in my seat with me in his lap.
“You know there are other chairs, right?” I raise an eyebrow at him, and he meets me with his own.
“Sure, but I like having your sexy ass sitting on me so get over it.” He smiles at me, and Addy laughs.
“Aww, that’s actually kind of adorable,” Addy gushes.
I can’t hide the blush that creeps up and Colten leans up to whisper in my ear. “I hope you never lose that blush, babe. I want it to always be there, even after I do dirty things to you.” He licks below my ear, and I shudder and reach over to hold Bry’s hand that he gladly gives me.
I don’t realize I’m looking all lovestruck until Addy makes a comment about it a few seconds later.
“Damn. I need to find my own men. You’re such a lucky bitch,” she sighs, and I throw my head back in laughter.
Leave it to Adeline Montgomery to bring the humour. Colt looks like he doesn’t particularly like the way she addresses me, but he’ll get over it. Bry is just used to it. He’s been around for too many of our phone dates too count.
Before I get a chance to mock her adorable pout, a man comes over to our table.
“Excuse me,” he says and looks right at me, ignoring everyone else.
“Yes?” I ask, and I feel Colt and Bry stiffen around me.
“I couldn’t help but come over here. You just look so similar to someone I once knew.”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know you,” I tell him, trying to hide the uncomfortable feeling washing over me.
“Oh, darling, it’s alright. I just wanted to tell you that you’re extremely beautiful. You should make sure to never go anywhere alone. Never know who you can trust.” He looks at the guys, then his eyes land on Addy for a moment before he just walks off.
“What the fuck was that?!” Colt all but yells, making me flinch.
“Did he just threaten you?” Addy looks pissed and flustered.
“I’ll kill the son of a bitch,” Bry says, and we all turn to look in the direction the guy walked in.
Did he threaten me? Kinda feels like it, but I don’t understand why a stranger would threaten me. I’ve never seen him around Blossom before, so he’s not a local.
If he did threaten me, how am I supposed to feel about that? Probably terrified, but I know that I’m safe with Bry and Colt by my side.
“Did he look familiar to anyone else?” I ask them, bringing their attention back to me. I know I haven’t seen him before, but he looks familiar none the less.
“Not really,” Addy chimes in, but Colten and Brian look thoughtful.
“Maybe a little,” Bry says, and Colt still looks lost in thought.
“Colt?”
“Sort of.” He nods. “I can’t place it. If he is, it’s not him I’ve seen. I never forget a face.”
We sit in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes before Addy speaks up.
“I miss you,” Addy says quietly, and when I look over at her there are tears threatening to fall.
“I miss you too, boo.” I get off Colten’s lap and go over to throw myself at her. “This summer we will rock the hell out of Blossom.” I wink at her and she chuckles.
“I’m holding you to that!” She wipes away the stray tears that fell, and looks at me. “Can you and your man candy walk me home? I’m kinda creeped out now,” she asks, and I nod before Bry chimes in.
“Definitely. There is no way you’re going home alone with that weirdo hanging around.”
Damn I love that man. I smile wide at him and skip over to wrap my arms around his waist, standing on my toes to give him a kiss that he gladly accepts.
“Ugh, seriously. Too much love.” Addy gags and we pull back as I giggle.
It doesn’t take long to walk Addy home. We stay and watch a couple movies before we have to head back to the school, and I’m an emotional mess all the way home.
“Come on, babe.” Colt pulls me by the hand as we enter the room. “Pick a movie.”
“Anything?” I doubt they will watch a musical with me. He looks me over for a moment then over to Brian and then nods.
“Anything.”
“Grease is the word!” I start singing and jumping around, not even thinking about them being here with me. I kind of get lost in my own mind when I sing, and I love it. This is exactly what I need.
By the time I finish setting up the movie and turning around, I realize the guys are still standing at the door just staring at me, and I blush.
“Shit,” Colt hisses. “Can we skip the movie and make out? That was hot.”
I let out a nervous laugh as Bry nods.
“Damn, beautiful. I can’t believe you hid that voice from me for so fucking long.” He charges at me and lifts me up to twirl in the air, and I let out a laugh.
