PREVIOUSLY IN THE SEVERED REALMS
For those of you who read a lot, I know keeping up with what happened in previous books in a series can be a tad difficult. If that’s you, here’s a quick little summary of where we last left all our favorite heroes:
Asha and Kiran have been searching for Az, Asha’s childhood best friend, for over a year now. While Az is busy hunting down humans and half-fae who possess magic, with the goal of opening the Rip, Asha and Kiran hope to find him before he succeeds…or realizes that he’s the true heir to the throne. When we last saw Asha and Kiran, they were in Othian with Ellie and Evander helping them track down Blaise.
Piper and Marcus have been in hiding ever since Princess Lydia crashed their wedding and informed them that Az is still on the hunt for Piper and her Gift..
When we last saw Ellie and Evander, they were in Othian, the capital of Dwellen. Though they succeeded in finding Blaise, she abandoned them in the middle of the night to save Nox.
Blaise failed in her attempt to rescue Nox from the fate of having his body permanently overtaken by the spirit of Farin, Queen Abra’s son. In a panic, Blaise placed Farin (in Nox’s body) into a magical slumber, weaving both males’ souls into the Fabric. She has since secretly allied herself with Az, who reminded her that opening the Rip would provide the magic necessary to rid Nox of Farin’s soul for good. She now waits with Nox’s body in Mystral, where she expects the rest of the group to find her.
When we last saw Nox, he had awoken in a body separate from Farin’s, both of them stranded on an abandoned island in another Realm.
Content Warning:
As Blaise is still working through her past trauma in this book, the content warnings in A Throne of Blood and Ice still apply, though most of the references are short, single-sentence flashbacks rather than entire scenes.
