Lemon Bread

 

Ingredients

       1½ cups all-purpose flour

       1 teaspoon baking powder

       1/8 teaspoon salt

       1 cup white sugar

       ½ cup butter, softened

       2 large eggs

       2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

       1 tablespoon lemon zest, grated finely

       ½ cup 2% milk

 

How to Prepare

Preheat your oven to 350ºF.

Generously, grease a loaf pan.

Place flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl, and mix well.

In a separate clean glass bowl, place sugar and butter and beat until light and fluffy.

Add eggs, lemon juice, and zest, and beat until well combined.

In the bowl of butter mixture, slowly add flour mixture, alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

Place the bread mixture into the prepared loaf pan evenly.

Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove the loaf pan from the oven and place onto a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes.

Now, invert the bread onto the wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

With a sharp knife, cut the bread loaf into desired-sized slices and serve.

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Total time: 1 hour
